Review: JAL Sakura Lounge Tokyo Narita International Airport (NRT)
After checking out of The Prince Gallery Tokyo, I headed to Narita for a positioning flight to Taipei to then return home back to San Francisco. After getting my boarding pass, I got to check out the JAL Sakura Lounge.
How to get access to JAL Sakura Lounge in NRT
JAL Sakura Lounge in Narita International Airport can normally be accessed by having elite status with JAL or by buying First, Business, Premium Economy, and Economy (Y-Fare Flex). My Starlux business class flight got me access to this lounge due to the airline not being affiliated with an alliance, and the lack of options inside NRT.
The lounge opens from 7:30 to 22:00 and is located in Terminal 2 of NRT after security check.
Inside JAL Sakura Lounge NRT
The lounge is greeted with a long reception desk that can get crowded easily due to how easy it is to get in the lounge.
Just behind the reception is The Dining area of the lounge where selections of Japanese and Western food from the a la carte menu can be picked for as many as you’d like.
I myself only picked JAL’s original beef curry to save stomach space for Starlux’s meal service. The curry’s texture was really good.
Below The Dining area through the spiral staircase is the main waiting area where there are many more seats and self-serve beverage stations.
Apparently, there was another food station below The Dining floor, but it was empty when I was there.
Some seats offer a frontal view of the runway through floor-to-ceiling windows. You’ll really feel the natural daylight at this lounge.
The beverage stations serve coffee, tea, juice, soda, and selections of alcoholic drinks.
Conclusion
The JAL Sakura Lounge in NRT serves as a decent place to relax before your flight. The food is good and the drink selections are acceptable. Though, it’s not a lounge I would make my way to go to for future visits.
