How to Know if the Airbus A320 in Qatar Airways Will Have Lie Flat or Recline Business Class Seat
The Airbus A320 is one of Qatar Airways’ fleet that typically serves short-haul international flights. However, the Airbus A320 has two configurations, and one of them have lie-flat seats in Business Class while the other only has recline seats.
Obviously, the lie-flat is an upgrade compared to the recline, so how can we figure out what configuration will be used? The answer lies on the row counts of the plane!

Qatar Airways Airbus A320 132 vs. 144 Seat Configurations
Whenever you book a Qatar Airways Aribus A320 flight on Business Class, you’ll be faced with an indistinguishable view of the Business Class on the seat map viewer.
I’ll use OTP-DOH and GYD-DOH as examples. OTP-DOH would have the lie-flat configuration (132-seat configuration) while GYD-DOH will have recline seats (144-seat configuration).
You’ll see below that the same green seat icons are used on the seat map viewer of either routes. Since both configurations have the same 3-row 2-2 seat configuration in Business Class cabin, it’s hard to know what you’ll get from this seat map alone.

So, we’ll have to check the row counts on Economy Class.
If the last row is number 28, then you’ll have the lie-flat configuration!

If the last row is number 30, then you’ll have the recline seat configuration.

That’s all there is to it.
Conclusion
Knowing the last row number in Economy Class is the key to knowing whether or not you will get the lie-flat or recline seats in Business Classin Qatar Airways’ Airbus A320.
Keep in mind that Qatar Airways tend to do equipment swaps, so you’d want to periodically check if your configuration will change or not before taking your flight.
