Conrad Nagoya Now Bookable On Points

A new Conrad hotel will soon open in summer in Nagoya, Japan. Conrad Nagoya will be the third Conrad hotel in the country after Conrad Tokyo and Conrad Osaka. Bookings are now available including Hilton points booking!

Conrad Nagoya Details

Conrad Nagoya will be a 170-keys hotel in the heart of Nagoya. Room size starts at 50sqm which is very big for Japan and is in line with the room size you’d expect from a western luxury hotel brand.

Amenities wise, there will be an executive lounge where Hilton Diamond and Diamond Reserve get to access, while Gold members need to be upgraded to an Executive Room type. There’s also an indoor pool, spa facilities, gym, and six dining facilities ranging from cafe, lobby lounge, Italian restaurant, rooftop bar, and Japanese restaurants specializing in kaiseki, teppanyaki, and sushi.

Conrad Nagoya Points Pricing

Conrad Nagoya will charge between 90-95k Hilton points per night, but it’s safe to assume 95k will be the standard price for standard rooms. Cash price floats around 60k yen per night after taxes and service fees that’d bring the valuation of ~0.4cpp which is a bit on the lower end of the average valuation of Hilton points.

Overall, Conrad Nagoya’s the “cheapest” Conrad in Japan despite being the newest. But, that price is most likely due to it being in Nagoya and not in Tokyo or Osaka.

Surprisingly, it’s not the most expensive hotel under Hilton on points in Nagoya! There’s an SLH hotel named The Tower Hotel Nagoya that’d charge 100k points per night with similar cash price of ~60k yen per night just a couple blocks away from the Conrad. From the looks of it, and if I’d choose between the two, the Conrad looks nicer.

Conclusion

A third Conrad will soon open in Japan. While it’s a cool development and looks to be a nice hotel, I’m not convinced of its value on points. For the same amount of points, you could, at times, spend it on Conrad Osaka which has stand the test of time even after the opening of the Waldorf Astoria Osaka.

Though Hilton points have experienced some pain lately, especially in Japan where the prices have skyrocketed where even the Conrad Tokyo charge 130k points per night which I no longer find worth redeeming for at that rate.

Then, there’s also TIAD, Autograph Collection a few blocks away from the Conrad. That hotel has more appealing redemption options including 35K FNC or 50K FNC that make it easier than before thanks to the recent 25K top-off development from Marriott Bonvoy. It’s also under Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts which is another nice option for Amex Platinum holders with the $300 bi-annual hotel credit. The price is also slightly cheaper than Conrad overall, making it a good value play to burn those credits. Conrad Nagoya should hopefully integrate itself into Amex FHR in the future to even the playing field.
