Review: Taipei Songshan Airport VIP Lounge (TSA)
As I was heading to Yokohama from Taipei on EVA Air, I spent some time inside the VIP Lounge (listed as Authority Lounge in LoungeBuddy) in Taipei Songshan Airport (TSA).
How to get access to Taipei Songshan VIP Lounge
You can gain access to the VIP Lounge by flying Business/First Class on any airline that flies from this airport. In my case, my flight from TSA-HND onboard EVA Air’s Boeing 787-10 Royal Laurel got me access. The VIP Lounge is more or less the general lounge for this smaller regional airport.
Inside Taipei Songshan VIP Lounge
The lounge opens daily from 5:30 am, and I got inside right before 6am, so it was still quite empty.
There’s plenty of cushioned chairs with half walls providing some privacy next to the seats.
Wi-Fi password stickers and power outlets are placed by the seats as well. Each seats come with pillows.
The lounge also has a work space area if you’d need a quieter environment.
The lounge has a bathroom, which I was able to take a picture of while empty.
Taipei Songshan VIP Lounge Food & Drinks
While I don’t expect much from a small regional airport lounge, the food offering in the VIP Lounge is actually quite decent! There’s selections of dim sum offerings, packaged small food, and fruits to grab.
The drinks options aren’t bad either with options like Yakult, soy milk, Pocari Sweat, soda, juice, and beer.
From my visit, I was able to enjoy steamy shumai, fried mantou, and pork bao. They were pretty good!
Conclusion
The VIP Lounge in Taipei Songshan Airport is pretty decent! For a lounge inside a small regional airport, it’s well-equipped with amenities you need like cushioned seats, Wi-Fi, and decent-to-good food and drinks. It’s not a lounge to go out of your way to visit, but it did provide a good place to wait for your flight.
