The Dali EDITION Opening April 22, 2026 (Marriott Points Booking Available)
A third EDITION hotel will open in China after the ones in Shanghai and Sanya that’s located in Dali City of Yunnan Province. It’s slated to open next month, and award availability is already out which heavily indicates that it won’t be delayed again as it was expected to open in December 2025.
The Dali EDITION Details
The Dali EDITION sets itself by Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake to make for fabulous natural backdrop. The hotel will feature many high windows throughout the property so you can enjoy the vistas much more.
There will be 150 total guest rooms, including suites. Amenities wise, there will be three dining establishments including a lobby bar, a Japanese restaurant that specializes in yakitori, and all-day international dining. Additionally, there will be a fitness center and spa facilities with indoor swimming pool and whirlpool.

The Dali EDITION Pricing
So far, booking availability starts at October 2026, but should open up more once it gets closer to opening. However, we now have insights on how much the hotel will cost on points. Judging from the incomplete sets of data, it appears to be categorized as a Category 6 or 7 hotel, but I’m leaning towards the latter. 50K Free Night Certificates plus topups can be viable for this hotel, but 85K FNC’s are much more assured.

As a bonus for award redemptions, Erhai Lake View King rooms will be set as standard rooms, meaning that you can guarantee yourself lake view on points/FNC stay to start, and there’s no reason to book Standard King/Twin unless availability runs out. Interestingly, Lake View Twins can’t be booked on points, which I’d assume would be categorized as an upgraded room that would cost more on points. But, you won’t be able to use FNC’s as they won’t count as standard rooms. Nice addition to the EDITION regardless.

Cash price tends to float around 3000 CNY or ~$430, which makes FNC redemption more appealing than points if we account for cent per point valuation.
Conclusion
The Dali EDITION looks to be a great addition to China’s luxury hotel collection with beautiful natural surroundings, and it looks to be a very sensible option to redeem your 50K or 85K Free Night Certificates on.
