The Bodrum EDITION

EDITION Hotels You Could Book with Marriott Bonvoy 50K Free Night Certificates

50K Free Night Certificates can be earned through promotional signup bonus that often comes up on either the Chase Marriott Bonvoy Boundless and Amex Marriott Bonvoy Business Card in the counts of 3-5x. You could also earn them by spending $15,000 in a calendar year with the Marriott Bonvoy Bevy or Bountiful.

We now know that Marriott still secretly assign categories to their hotels, and with that information, we can infer the possibility of our Free Night Certificates, as we can top them up with up to 15,000 Marriott points. In case of 50k FNC’s, we could redeem a hotel that would charge 65,000 Marriott points at most.

Here’s the secret Marriott award chart:

There’s less than 20 EDITION properties worldwide currently. Compared to Marriott’s other luxury brands (Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, Luxury Collection, W, & JW Marriott), EDITION hotels tend to be rated higher regarding their Category levels.

EDITION Hotels are rated as Category 6 minimum. 50K FNC’s will give you better chances on redeeming them than 35K FNC’s will. They also would introduce you to three Category 7 EDITION’s located in New York and Iceland, and one special Category 8 EDITION located in Türkiye.

Still, you must pick your dates carefully and tailor your trip around the hotel redemption. Whether that’s worth the hassle or not is up to you.

The Abu Dhabi EDITION

While Dubai EDITION is out of reach for 35k FNC, the EDITION in UAE’s capital is within range of possibility for 35k FNC plus topups.

The Bodrum EDITION

The Bodrum EDITION is a seasonal Category 8 resort by the Aegean Sea in Türkiye. Free breakfast is included for Platinum Elite and higher. Though, you’d need to come in low seasons like April to early May or October-November in order to have a chance on booking with 50K certs plus topup.

Conclusion

50K FNC’s allow you to potentially redeem them on 4 more EDITION properties belonging in Category 7 & 8, while giving better chances on Category 6 EDITION Hotels than the 35K FNC’s would.

I personally enjoyed The Bodrum EDITION and can highly recommend it especially with its stronger elite treatment compared to other EDITION properties. Though for next time, I would like to try Reykjavik EDITION if I’d have 50K FNC’s.
