Review: Turkish Airlines Airbus A320 Business Class (SJJ-IST)
SJJ-IST
TK 1022
Depart: 9:05AM
Arrive: 12:05PM
Duration: 2 hours
Seat: 3A
After my visit to Bosnia & Herzegovina, I made my way for Batumi to start my Caucasus trip. But, there’s no direct flight from Sarajevo to Georgia, so I had to transfer via Istanbul first with Turkish Airlines as the most convenient option for award flight booking. Plus, it was nice to visit the Turkish Airlines Business Lounge in IST again.
I flew the Turkish Airlines A321neo Business Class 2 years ago on the way to Kyrgyzstan back in 2022, so it would make a comparison between the new and old.
Turkish Airlines A320 Business Class- Booking
The flight SJJ-BUS via IST is very affordable with just 20,000 Air Canada Aeroplan miles in Business Class plus minimal taxes and fees. It’s a no-brainer pick since Aeroplan miles are very easy to acquire thanks to it being a transfer partner of Amex Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards, and Capital One Miles.
Turkish Airlines A320 Business Class- Boarding
Before boarding the flight, I waited inside the Business Lounge in SJJ. Business Class passengers will get complimentary access alongside with those with Priority Pass.
Turkish Airlines A320 Business Class- Seats
The Business Class in Turkish Airlines Airbus A320 is configured in 2-2 layout, and there are just 6 seats total. My seat 3A is at the furthest back of the Business Class cabin.
The width of these leather seats are big, but the padding wasn’t the greatest. It felt like I was slouching a bit throughout the flight.
Universal power outlets are found underneath between the seats.
The entertainment screen can be brought up on the right-side arm of the seat. I didn’t watch any movies, but Wi-Fi was provided for Business Class passengers. Wear and tear’s clearly shown on this older aircraft.
Turkish Airlines A320 Business Class- Meal Service
One meal service is included in this 2 hour flight. I had the gozleme, which is a Turkish savoury pastry with scrambled eggs and baby spinach as fillings. It comes with variety of food bowls and a plate of cold cuts and cheese. Pretty decent overall.
Turkish Airlines A320 Business Class- Lavatory
Lavatory for Business Class is located by the cockpit. It’s a standardf lavatory, but there were no Molton Brown toiletries on my flight.
Conclusion
Turkish Airlines’ Business Class in the Airbus A320 is the older sibling of the A321neo and it clearly shows. I’m not a fan of the seats’ padding, but for such a short flight, I didn’t mind too much. Obviously pick the A321neo if you can which provides superior entertainment screen, padding, an option for more privacy with your seat mate, and an overall sleeker modern look.
