St. Regis Budapest Exterior

St. Regis Budapest Opening April 7, 2026 (Marriott Points Booking Available)

Marriott’s growing its luxury hotel scene within Budapest after the likes of W Budapest and Matild Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel by opening a St. Regis next month. I personally have stayed at the former Ritz-Carlton in Budapest that has now been rebranded as Al Habtoor Palace Budapest, and enjoyed it overall. The new St. Regis will command a high price, so I wonder how it will compare to other luxury hotels in Hungary’s capital.

St. Regis Budapest Details

St. Regis Budapest will have 102 rooms, including 39 suites with amenities like a sushi bar and restaurant, patisserie, a glass-roofed gym, and spa facilities with sauna, pool, and hammam.

The St. Regis will be located inside the Klotid Palace, one half of the twin palaces facing Elizabeth Bridge and Danube River. The other half is Matild Palace which houses a Luxury Collection hotel named after the said palace’s name. Being so close to each other could make for an easy and fun hotel hopping experience, especially if you could get a 4pm late checkout from Marriott Platinum status and above, which can be easily achieved by just signing up for the Amex Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant.

St. Regis Budapest Pricing

St. Regis Budapest appears to be priced between 88,000 to 130,000 Marriott points. This pattern on points cost suggests it’s a Category 8 hotel set in the background. Thus, it’s possible for 85K Free Night Certificate redemption on few dates.

Compared to the Matild Palace across the street, the St. Regis will generally be more expensive of the two both in cash and points. However, Matild Palace is a Category 7 hotel, making an 85K FNC redemption much more assured than the St. Regis, or even a 50K FNC during specific dates. Only time will tell if the St. Regis is worth the premium over the Matild Palace. Though I predict that Matild Palace would still maintain a better value of the two.

Conclusion

A St. Regis will be opening in Hungary’s capital very soon that sits across the Matild Palace, another Marriott Bonvoy property. It will be interesting to see how both of those hotels will compare to one another. Budapest is a city where you could have nice and easy options for great 85K FNC redemptions, and now we’ll have one more added to the list.
