Luxury Marriott Bonvoy Hotels in Tokyo

1. The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo

Located in the hearts of Roppongi, you’ll be close to some of the high-end nightlife by staying at the Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo. This is also one of the tallest hotels in the city inside the Midtown Tower, so the views are to die for! If weather permits, you may even be able to see Mt. Fuji or Yokohama from the hotel.

Elite members treatment is excellent at this hotel as Gold Elite and up may gain extra benefits like more points or discounts on food & beverages and spa. Titanium Elite and Ambassador Elite may be entitled to free breakfast, which is very uncommon for a Ritz Carlton!

2. The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho, a Luxury Collection Hotel

A rival to the Ritz-Carlton that’s located in the more business-centric Kioicho district. While it’s often cheaper than the Ritz-Carlton, the quality seem to be on par on top of a more modern hard product. It has the Sky Gallery Lounge Levita, a bar with killer views of Tokyo and glass artworks that emulate waterfalls.

3. The Tokyo EDITION, Toranomon

The modern version of the Ritz Carlton, although the service may not be as good. However, some people might not like the more dated hard product of the Ritz and enjoy the modern minimalistic design of the EDITION instead. Guests may enjoy a close-up view of the Tokyo Tower.

Upscale Marriott Bonvoy Hotels in Tokyo

1. Mesm Tokyo, Autograph Collection

The Mesm Tokyo is my most favorite hotel in the Marriott Bonvoy program. It really blends in with luxury and upscale. It features a great view of the Tokyo waterways, and it can be enjoyed further with private balconies that some rooms come with. It also has some of the nicest in-room coffee and complimentary minibar that’s replenished daily.

Staying here is the most convenient for TeamLabs Planet within the Marriott umbrella.

2. The Prince Sakura Tower Tokyo, Autograph Collection

Located right across JR Shinagawa Station, public transportation would be quite convenient from the Prince Sakura Tower hotel. Although other Marriott properties still do have quick access to subways, not all of them have access to JR lines that could allow you to take day trips to Yokohama or take the bullet train to go to other Japanese cities. Executive lounge is available for Platinum Elite and up.

Shinagawa also have few famous aquariums like the Shinagawa Aquarium and Maxell Aqua Park.

  • Amex FHR? Amex Hotel Collection

3. Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay

The Sheraton is a niche place to stay at due to its very close proximity to Tokyo Disneyland. Depending on your plans in Tokyo, if the Disneyland is an important part of the itinerary, then the Sheraton will be your best option. The rooms may come with 3 to 4 beds inside, which is perfect for families!

Budget Marriott Bonvoy Hotels in Tokyo

Although cash prices for Marriott properties are quite high, and doesn’t necessarily fit in the “budget” section, some options may be redeemable with Free Night Certificates (plus topups) that can be earned cheaply through Marriott credit cards like the Boundless at $95 annual fee.

1. AC Hotel Tokyo Ginza

While cash price can be quite steep even for the AC Hotel, it can be reasonably paid for by free night certificates. Location is in Ginza, which is filled with luxury brand stores that avid shoppers may love. If you’re looking for a no frills and clean room in an upscale location, then the AC Hotel is the right choice within the Marriott portfolio.

  • Free Night Certificate Bookable?: Possibly with 35-50k FNC’s, plus topups

2. Moxy Tokyo Kinsicho

The Moxy would be the cheapest option in cash within the Marriott brand (not recommended for points booking). It’s a bit close to the Tokyo Skytree and Asakusa where you can visit the Senso-ji temple. Moxy gives an “upscale hostel” vibe, so it may be the choice for travelers who wish to socialize and mingle with others.

Conclusion

These are some of the best hotels Marriott has to offer inside Tokyo. While there are other Marriott properties not included, I feel these would suffice for travelers with different budgets and needs. Quality, price, and locations related to own’s activities are the huge factors considered when making this list.
